Welcome to Ottermouth - Home of Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club
Ottermouth Ground, Granary Lane, Budleigh Salterton, EX9 6JD

The club is one of the longest established in the County with the first match reports dating back to 1858 and there is no doubt that cricket was probably being played before then. Today the club is a thriving organisation, well supported by the community and run by an enthusiastic management committee under the Chairmanship of Kevin Curran. The club endeavors to provide a friendly and safe environment for its colts members and offers a full range of cricket activity for its playing members and the community. There are also many social events throughout the year. Within the clubhouse, the club's history is well portrayed with an attractive display of photos and memorabilia. Full details of the teams and playing opportunities are included in our website. The club welcomes members and their guests and sets out to offer the attractive facilities and surroundings that members expect.

The club runs 3 senior sides. 2 playing on a Saturday in The Devon Cricket League and 1 on a Sunday in the South Devon Cricket League. There are  also Sunday friendly matches while we also have 7 colts teams participating in the East Devon Youth Cricket League. (Please see colts section of this website for more). 7 teams make up the structure in the clubs own Community League who generally play their matches in the evenings with some on Sundays. We entertain many touring sides and also host Devon County fixtures. There is a very comprehensive programme for the 2013 season for members to enjoy. (See Fixtures for full details)

The club house will normally open at least one hour before matches, subject to the statutory licensing regulations the club bar will normally open half an hour before senior club and community league matches. The bar normally closes at 11pm. The club does have permission for a later closing time for special events. The bar manager reports to the committee and will close the bar at his discretion and as directed by the committee. Opening of the bar on other occasions will be based on the cost effectiveness of running the bar and will be at the discretion of club management.

To become a member of the club, please see "About Us" page of this website.
